Disney's Vero Beach Resort

When the Ocean Meets the Magic

If you know me at all, you know there are two things that have always felt like home — the beach and Disney. I never imagined I would find them in the same place. And then I walked through the doors of Disney's Vero Beach Resort and the Atlantic was right there, wide and warm and glittering, and something in me went completely still.

This is a real place. It exists. And somehow, it is about to be mine.

What I didn't expect was the sea turtles. Disney's commitment to sea turtle conservation in Vero Beach spans over twenty years — loggerhead, green, and leatherback turtles nesting along the five-mile stretch of beach right outside the resort, with more than 20,000 hours dedicated to monitoring and protecting those nests. That work has resulted in an estimated 1.8 million sea turtle hatchlings recorded along this shoreline. Every summer, during nesting season from mid-April through October, guests can walk the beach with sea turtle specialists, watch them collect data, and if you're lucky, find fresh flipper tracks in the sand. There is something about a place that protects the smallest and most vulnerable creatures in its waters that tells you everything you need to know about it. This is that kind of place. And it doesn't stop at the shoreline. Since 1995, the Disney Conservation Fund has directed more than $141 million to community conservation programs, supporting 600 nonprofit organizations protecting more than 1,000 species of wildlife across half the countries in the world and all five oceans. In 2025 alone, the Disney Conservation Fund awarded $1 million to the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation, dedicated to conserving and permanently connecting Florida's natural landscapes. This is a company that takes the health of the natural world seriously — not as a footnote, but as part of its identity. That matters to me deeply. It's the kind of stewardship that makes you proud to be in the same conversation. The Walt Disney CompanyWDW Magazine

More coming to the Noellie Journal soon. But if you're looking for somewhere that feels like the world slowed down and got a little more beautiful — Disney's Vero Beach Resort is exactly that. Right on the Atlantic. Sea turtles nesting on the beach. Extraordinary ocean conservation work happening quietly in the background. The kind of place that makes you understand why people fall in love with Florida and never leave.

It is genuinely one of the most special places I have ever stayed. And I get to call it home.
