Moana Premiere Week!

Consider this your sneak peek, because Moana premiere week is officially here and I am already fully in my Moana era! And yes, I am extremely excited for the red carpet premiere ;) that’s all I’ll say about that for now, but keep your eyes on this space.

The press tour kicked off in Hawaii back in June, then sailed through Shanghai, Sydney, and London, where they built an actual twenty-foot fishhook replica and a full canoe recreation for fans to see in person. Dwayne Johnson jumped on stage with a group of kid performers mid-song at the London stop and I am not emotionally recovered from that clip. Now the tour is making its way through Rio and Miami before it lands stateside for the big premieres. The commitment to this rollout has been unmatched.

Here is what I love about Moana season. It is the one time of year I get to be a little unserious about the ocean, the horizon, all of it, and just be a girl in a pink dress with a flower behind her ear having the best day. No deep dive required. Just vibes, leis, and a demigod’s weapon that is heavier than it has any right to be.

Disney’s live-action Moana hits theaters July 10 and you already know I will be counting down. Catherine Laga’aia stepping into the role, Dwayne Johnson back as Maui, that ocean, those songs — I am ready to cry in a movie theater in the most predictable way possible.

This week on the blog is officially Moana week. Expect a little bit of everything — the fun, the florals, the “how many times can Rory Noelle mention the sea in one post” content you did not ask for but are getting anyway. Consider this the kickoff.
