There's a Christmas tree in a hospital right now surrounded by books.
Not the kind of Christmas tree most children wake up to—not in a cozy living room with stockings hung and family gathered close. But a tree in a place where children are fighting battles no child should have to fight. Where Christmas morning means hospital gowns and beeping monitors and parents trying to hold it together for their little one.
This is where The Noellie Foundation's Christmas Courage Program lives. In the spaces where hope matters most. In the rooms where Christmas feels impossible.
The Children We Serve
Picture a five-year-old who loves dinosaurs, spending her twentieth day in the hospital. She's tired of being poked and prodded. Tired of the same four walls. Tired of watching other kids go home while she stays.
Picture a three-year-old boy who misses his dog, his bed, his normal life. Who doesn't understand why Christmas has to happen here this year. Who just wants something—anything—that feels like comfort.
Picture the parents. Exhausted. Terrified. Trying to make magic happen in a place that feels anything but magical. Wondering how to explain to their child why Santa is coming to a hospital room instead of their living room.
These are the families the Christmas Courage Program exists for.
What We Actually Do
We don't just send books. We send their book.
A book chosen specifically for each child—curated to their age, their interests, the things that make their eyes light up. The five-year-old who loves dinosaurs gets a book about dinosaurs. The three-year-old who misses his dog gets a story about a brave puppy. Not a generic gift. A gift that says: we see you. We know who you are. You matter.
And tucked beside that book is a soft Lion plushie. Something to hold when the nights feel long. Something to squeeze during the hard moments. Something that's theirs—not the hospital's, not shared, just theirs.
It's such a small thing. A book and a plushie.
But to a child who feels forgotten by the world outside those walls? It's proof that someone remembers. Someone cares. Someone took the time to choose something just for them.
Why This Exists
I started The Noellie Foundation because I know what those hospital rooms feel like.
I know the fear that lives in your chest when you don't know what's coming. I know the loneliness of watching the world continue without you. I know what it means to be surrounded by people and still feel completely alone.
And I know what it would have meant to receive something—anything—that reminded me I wasn't forgotten.
That's what the Christmas Courage Program is. It's not about stuff. It's about being seen. It's about a child holding a book that was chosen just for them and realizing that somewhere out there, someone thought of them. Someone cared.
It's about the smallest light in the darkest room.
With Days Left Until Christmas
Christmas is almost here.
In just a few days, children will wake up in hospital beds instead of their own. They'll spend Christmas morning getting vitals checked and medications administered. They'll watch the holiday happen around them while they fight battles most of us can't imagine.
But they don't have to feel alone.
Every dollar donated between now and Christmas goes directly to these children. Every single one. Books curated for each child. Plushies to hold. Love delivered to the rooms where it's needed most.
There's still time. Barely—but there's still time.

Share this post with someone who needs to hear about this mission. Help us spread the word in these final days.
You might never meet the child who receives your gift. You might never see their face light up when they open it. But I promise you—it matters. More than you know. More than I can put into words.
This Is What It's Really About
The Christmas Courage Program isn't about charity. It's not about feeling good or checking a box.
It's about a child in a hospital bed receiving something that reminds them they're brave. That they're loved. That even here—even in the hardest place—Christmas found them.
It's about comfort when comfort feels impossible. It's about a small light in a dark room.
That's what this is really about. That's why we do this. That's what your generosity creates.
Thank you for being part of it.
Merry Christmas. 🌟
